Behind-The-Ear (BTE) hearing aids provide excellent sound quality and performance. Contrary to much public perception, they are not just for people with severe hearing losses. They do, however, provide an excellent (and in some cases only) hearing solution for severe hearing losses because of the greater distance separation between the microphone and ear canal. There's at least a hundred BTE hearing aid models currently being produced by the top manufacturers. We have selected a good cross-section of BTE hearing aids ranging from the simple linear type all the way up to the top-of-the-line latest digital models to include in our selling line. We have carefully chosen these in order to provide our customers with the best values possible in a wide variety of price levels and technology levels. As a general statement, Behind-The-Ear aids will produce a better quality of sound. One reason is that the components inside, especially the microphones and receivers ('speakers'); can be made larger. BTE hearing aids are very sturdy and reliable. The user does not have to worry about earwax build-up becoming a cause for repair. In addition, the BTE hearing aids that have directional capability will work more effectively than In-The-Ear (ITE) directional hearing aids.
