I DON'T LIKE THIS AID AS WELL AS I DID THE ONE I ORDERED IN OCTOBER. THIS ON CANNOT BE ADJUSTED VOLUME WISE AS EASLY AS MY FIRST PURCHASE. I'M DEBATING ON SENDING IT BACK AND TRYING TO FIND ONE SIMILAR TO THE FIRST ONE I PURCHASED (ARENA 1HP+)

It is an excellent choice if you are looking for a mid-level digital instrument with many advanced features, but do not want to pay the premium price. JOY is a special in-house private label brand for Lloyds featuring the technology of one of the world's leading hearing aid manufacturers.
This is a custom-made hearing aid. In order to have a custom hearing aid made, we need to have impressions of your ears. By clicking "Order Now", we first send out impression kit materials by standard mail at no charge to our customers. We only bill you for the finished product. Lloyds sends enough material for a person to do two separate impressions of one ear - that way you can practice with the first one to see how it all comes together and how fast you need to work with the two-part silicone material.
Making impressions of your ears is a very simple and safe process. Tens of thousands of our customers have done this over the past 45 year with no problems. It's good to have a helper - an extra set of hands - to do this, but it's not 100% necessary.
There is a $50/ear non-refundable deposit on all custom-made hearing aids.

The term Half-Shell Hearing Aid refers to the size of this hearing aid. A Half-Shell Hearing Aid Hearing Aid aid is considered "medium" in comparison to other In-The-Ear types of hearing aids. It's not as large as the Full-Shell aid that fills up the entire bowl of the ear, nor is it as small as a Canal Aid that fits just at the opening of the ear canal. The faceplace is generally about the size of a nickel, although this will depend upon the individual's ear size and what "extras" may be installed into the aid. All Half-Shell Hearing Aids use the size #312 battery. These are custom built aids, so the size and shape will perfectly match the curves and contours of the user's individual ear. To make a custom aid we need impressions of the user's ears. This can easily be done right at home. Tens of thousands of Lloyd's customers have successfully done this over the past 40 years with no problems. It's a very safe and simple procedure. Everything necessary to make impressions of your ears is sent at no charge.
The standard Half-Shell Hearing Aid is an analog instrument and is built to match the user's hearing loss. We like to have audiograms (hearing loss charts) if possible. It is very helpful but not absolutely necessary. The more complete of a description of a person's hearing loss, the better able we are to meet the need. The standard Half-Shell Hearing Aid comes with a volume control wheel and one free trimpot. The trimpot is usually a tone control for ability to tune the aid to specific frequency emphasis. The Half-Shell Hearing Aid aid can be made with up to 50dB of gain, making it appropriate for a wide degree of hearing losses ranging from mild all the way up to moderately severe. Most Half-Shell Hearing Aids also feature venting through the shell which allows the aid to "breathe" while it's being worn. This helps alleviate the sensation of "talking in a barrel" for its wearer. The standard Half-Shell Hearing Aid comes with a one year warranty, cleaning tools, free batteries, carrying pouch and all items needed in order to wear the aid right out of the box. Extended warranties are available at a reasonable cost.

The Fusion PP Body Aid is one of the strongest hearing aids Lloyds offers. With 80dB of gain, this analog aid can be fitted to someone with a profound degree of hearing loss. When a user needs this much volume, many of the super high-powered Behind-The-Ear aids will cause feedback, or squealing, when turned up. This results in the user having to turn the volume down from its maximum level in order to be able to wear the BTE hearing aid. Body Aids are a solution to this aggravating problem. The "box" part of the aid is worn in a shirt pocket and has a cord leading up to the ear. There is a part called the Receiver ("speaker") that's at the other end of that cord and that's what is worn in the ear along with a custom earmold. This configuration of Speaker and Hearing Aid provides a much greater distance between these parts, which means the volume produced by the Receiver can be turned up much higher before the sound reaches back to the microphone pickup of the Body Aid (in the pocket).
This Fusion PP Body Aid has a modern, lightweight case design, has a black cord and receiver, large controls for those with dexterity issues, a built-in telecoil, a direct input socket (if you want to plug directly into a radio or TV), a reversible clip for the pocket, and two trimpots (tone and AGC) for fine tuning. Body Aids can generally cost up to about $1,000 in many local offices or clinics. This is an excellent price for extremely high powered amplification

I have to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. my mother had these very old hearing aids that simply did not work. She kept getting denied by Medicaid for new ones for reasons that the hearing aid doctor did not know how to complete the paperwork correctly. In desperation I looked for cheap methods to help my mother hear. She is profoundly deaf. We found the Rexton Fusion PP. e2e Wireless - the first technology to synchronize the signal processing of both hearing instruments so that they operate simultaneously as one unit. This means that the two instruments are always properly balanced so you hear and identify sounds better

Receiver-in-Canal (RIC) Design - this is an adaptation to the standard open-fit style. With the receiver being in your canal rather than behind the ear, it extends the fitting range of open-fit instruments to people with more severe hearing loss especially in the high frequencies. The special vented ear piece allows your ear canal to remain open-feeling, and you will not experience occlusion (the sensation that your ear is plugged or that you are talking into a barrel). Also the compact design of the BTE, paired with the thin tube, allows this type of instrument to be the most discreet BTE style available.
